For those wondering, sadly no we aren’t grooming this weekend. Snow machines and grooming equipment have had their year end maintenance and are put up for summer storage. Stay safe everyone. See you next winter!
Trails freshly groomed again on Saturday morning. Conditions remain very good, especially for skate. Classic tracks are holding up well due to being hard and icy. – Thanks to Jim the groomer for keeping up with the snow conditions. .
CLUBHOUSE CLOSED MARCH 17th. Trails Remain Open. https://www.ccsam.ca/windsor-park-nordic-centre-clubhouse-closes-march-17th-trails-remain-open/
Klister season is upon us. Skate is fast, and conditions are slightly icy. Most skiers are saying it is still in good shape.
Trails groomed for skate again today. Conditions are good after the snow shovelling party on the weekend. we were able to stop those bare spots from growing!
Trails are freshly groomed and in great shape for both Classic and skate. The forecasted snow event today is eagerly anticipated. Packing and tracksetting will be the primary focus on Saturday, January 18.
Jim started grooming at 2:00 AM and has now gone home to nap before starting over again. Lots of fluffy snow, warm temps and happy skiers today means the trails won’t “look” groomed tonight but at least we have SNOW to ski on! Enjoy friends.
If you are planning on skiing after dark, we recommend wearing a headlamp because we do have some lights out around the trails that should be fixed in a couple weeks! Sorry for the inconvenience.
Jim the Groomer is out working his magic (probably cursing all the skiers behind him but who can blame them). You won’t see perfect corduroy or crisp beautiful tracks until people stop skiing on fresh groomed trail but for now we are just thrilled to see SNOW!
Skating is excellent. Track setting is next.
