Last grooming date reported by the province was Monday, Jan 24th. Conditions Wednesday evening were calm and mild at -2C. Glide was excellent. There had been some new snow on the trails but of no concern. Significant drifting on Elm between km 1.5 and 2.0 soon after the cabin had formed some “rollers” that will be challenging for the groomer to level out. And the warm weather brought out a group of 6 snowshoe travelers who chose Wild Grape for their route. Thanks goodness the regular snowfalls means regular grooming can help us push the reset button on trails more frequently than in recent years. For those visitors who want to respect ski-only trails and instead use designated walking trails, a clear sign by the Oak and Maple Trail loop could help divert these people BEFORE they park in the main parking lot.
