Classic tracks and skate trails still in tact Saturday morning. Surprised not to see more visitors! Like many other locations, days are numbered.

Wild Grape and Elm trails groomed Wed, Feb 23, per interactive provincial report. It’s a shame that river crossings are closed this early, an the typically excellent conditions on Basswood may be done for this season.

Thanks for the last update, Elise. No glide on that trek sounds like a slog!
As of the afternoon of Thurs, Feb 10th, the Province reports last grooming of Epinette was Feb 9th, while Seton, Yellow Quill, and Kiche Manitou trails were Friday, Feb 4th. I’m hopeful that the last group will be touched up before the weekend!

Feb 6, 2021 – Skied Seton Trails over about 4″ of lighter snow; renewed the track as well as a couple of skiers can. The hills are lots of fun, and these trails deserve much more traffic! It is worth a 2 hour drive. The main cabin at Seton is in fantastic condition with a nearby outhouse; secondary cabin at the far point of the trails is…[Read more]

To save folks a few clicks, the province’s interactive map shows Jan 26th grooming on Epinette, and Jan 27th grooming on Seton, Yellow Quill and Kiche Manitou trails…should be great for the weekend if there is limited new snow between now and then.

Last grooming date reported by the province was Monday, Jan 24th. Conditions Wednesday evening were calm and mild at -2C. Glide was excellent. There had been some new snow on the trails but of no concern. Significant drifting on Elm between km 1.5 and 2.0 soon after the cabin had formed some “rollers” that will be challenging for the groomer…[Read more]

I second Elise’s report. We were out early Sunday am to enjoy the freshly groomed trails on Red and Orange. It was cold but calm. Incredible scenery. I’m envious of skiers who live close by!

Great ski under calm conditions and moonlight last night. Snow drifting along the driveway in, and a large snow ridge left on Roblin left by snow-clearing equipment had to be shovelled. Basswood wasn’t groomed as of then, but that could soon change. MB parks has a new map for Beaudry updated Jan 2022, but some of their links still show a…[Read more]
