Birds Hill Provincial Park 5 months, 3 weeks agoSo, me and the G-man started today at 9:30 Apr 12 at the stables parking lot. Skied east Bluestem to the lookout, Chick loop,and Esk back to the parking lot. The ski track was very melted and shrunken, with the base of the track collapsing under my skis from time to time. Birds Hill Provincial Park 5 months, 3 weeks agoI was out at 7:20 a.m. Mon. -1c. Chickadee had lots of footprints so I turned around and did West Bluestem in reverse direction. Still in pretty good shape and icy/crusty at that time of day. Lots of double poling and a very satisfying ski with effortless glide.
Good snow base so who knows how long it will last. -

Wildwood Community Centre 5 months, 3 weeks ago@brentprusak I found a large spring on the skate trail yesterday that looks like its from the groomers suspension system. I put it in the groomers cargo bed. Can’t find an attach photo button but let me know if you want me to email a photo. Thanks for all the grooming you did this winter!

Wildwood Community Centre 5 months, 4 weeks agoWildwood skate track groomed this morning Hole #8 included. Classic was not groomed but it’s still in good shape with the exception of Hole #8.

Birds Hill Provincial Park 5 months, 4 weeks agoGreat ski Saturday morning on Bluestem, Esker, Lime Kiln and Aspen! Conditions were firm and super-fast when we started, but softening by noon. Lots of skiers out there enjoying the beautiful sunny day, and possibly last classic outing. Hope it cools off enough so the trails will still be skiable!

Bittersweet 5 months, 4 weeks agoThe skate trails will be groomed early Sunday morning. Conditions for skating will be best likely until late-morning Sunday when they will start getting slower and sticky.

Wildwood Community Centre 5 months, 4 weeks agoTemp is forecast to be -2 C at 4 am Sunday. I hope to groom the skate track early Sunday 5 am for the last time this year. Might be great conditions Sunday morning till about 11.

Birds Hill Provincial Park 5 months, 4 weeks agoFriday 6-9pm. Classic tracks good, icy and some side crust in sunny sections, hard snow in shaded. Red wax worked well over a 15 km ski. GUR skate track looked awesome. Not many people out at the best time of evening. Would have stayed longer to do some skate skiing after dark , but did not pack donuts and coffee. Dumb… Fail…

Bittersweet 6 months agoRobin egg blue sky, pristine white snow and excellent groomed trails made for a very enjoyable ski today. Tracks are holding up nicely and are well formed.
