  • Grand Beach received a decent skim of fluffy stuff overnight, making for better than expected classic skiing this morning. There are a handful of bare patches or rocks to lift a ski over, but otherwise trails are still white edge to edge. The base is essentially solid ice though, so avoid the big hills or I guess just try not to die.

    • If that’s not your jam, rumours on FB suggest that other, flatter trails in the area may have similar conditions right now: Vic Beach or Pine Falls might have that new snow sans the slopes.

  • Amazing classic (ice klister) ski on Saturday and a good late, late season type ski today. A couple of surprising hidden gems- the turn off from Boulder to Beaver to the Beaver Pond shelter turn around and backtrack (@3km) was fantastic and might hold up for another day or two. Also Squirrel from the Pine Grove shelter to the Ridge View shelter…[Read more]

  • The warm temperatures have taken a significant toll on the ski trails. Sunday will be the last “official” day of the Windsor Park ski season. Access to the trails will remain, however, for anyone wishing to continue skiing. Thank you to everyone for making this past season so wonderful. See you next season!

  • Friday was another great spring skiing day. Trails were icy until about 10:AM Then a nice soft top layer, great for skating until about 1PM. a bit mushy midday until the sun went down when things got fast again. Skiers can expect similar on Saturday after the -5C overnight low. Trails are continuing to hold up well: thin in exposed sunny…[Read more]

  • Thursday night skate – trails holding up surprisingly well. BLACK DIAMOND is washed out – closed. thin spots on far corner of BLUE OVAL and GRAVEYARD LOOP. Green trail holding up well: thin on SHEEP DIP. Friday trails should still be good. Enjoy the last few days!!

    • Love that you are “scratching” and “renovating”, and updating, in these conditions – many thanks!

  • Just skated tonite, still really good.. little icey in spots, getting wavey on the blue loop as the snow is thinning… grass patches to watch for at pump house, graveyard loop, and a patch of grass on the skate lane along archibald about 50 yard before the 2nd dip… Id start watching for cart path gravel to start poking through shortly…[Read more]

  • All skate trails freshly scratched and renovated as of 9AM Wednesday. Excellent spring conditions!

  • Trails were groomed and trackset today before things got too soft. Trails are holding up well. As of 4PM today things were getting fast as the temperatures were dropping. Non-operating lights of DOG TOOTH and BLUE OVAL have been repaired.

  • Surprisingly good conditions. I skied 16 km this morning. Saw a few other skiers and one fat biker.

  • WARM WEATHER FORECAST may be hard on the trails this week. There are no plans to close this week, as this could be the last few days of the season at the center (we hope not!). The anticipated freezing each night will help a great deal in keeping the snowcover as long as possible.

  • Has anybody been out since the recent warm weather? I would like to head out there , but am not interested in killing myself. EZ, you have been out there lately: any news?

    • A facebook report from yesterday showed what looked like a nice image… they said an inch of new snow had fallen, and no bare patches.. not fast conditions.

      • Friends of mine attempted to ski there last Wednesday only to abandon their effort and go elsewhere. A Parks employee told me today that they have not received any snow there since Feb.5.

  • Very good conditions at Windsor today. Skied the Blue only. Skate freshly groomed. The few thin spots I saw were easily avoided. Classic looks to be in good shape too. Black diamond, river loops, and Jimmy’s Dip were hard packed, but had enough snow to feel safe.

  • All trails groomed on Friday night. 3 cms of fresh snow has made a world of difference to the ski trails. Great looking corduroy on the skate trails. Expectations are that trails will be in great shape until, at least, early next week!

  • Over all: good to excellent skiing conditions
All Skate trails are groomed and in excellent condition.
Classic tracks are icy, but well formed.
Brent’s loop and roller coaster are particularly fine
Thin spots around pump house, north side of Graveyard Loop, Black Diamond hill , Blue Oval and Backslide.
Seine River has flooded , so creek c…[Read more]

  • TRAILS OPEN. PLEASE USE CAUTION. Jim has done what he can with the skate trails. Renovated some areas of the green trail. Classic tracks appear to have held up well. RIVER CROSSINGS ARE CLOSED. You can cross the river at Stone Bridge and Steel Bridge only. Skier reports will be helpful. Be careful and enjoy yourselves out there!

  • Jim out there fixing and assessing. Hope to open later today. Will update soon.

  • TRAILS CLOSED MONDAY (Feb 22). Hopefully just a 24 hour closure. We’ll assess after the warm day. Trails lights are out – electrician coming Monday. Hope to see you all out skiing again very soon. Stay tuned!

  • Grand Beach today was very good.. far end of Beaver is an offroad track basically with skier made tracks.. was kind of neat in the beginning, then I just wanted off of it.. lots of snow.. don’t bother skating.. very soft, and potted with footprints… my first time there, the only thing I could really complain about is the lack of trail signage…

  • Jim groomed all the skate this morning and touched up the classic. “All good”, he says. Have a great day everyone!

  • Skate trails groomed early this morning.
