  • Nov 22, 2022 – Snowshoe trails are in excellent condition with enough snow. Ski trails were packed and tracked on Saturday Nov 19, 2022. Trails are skiable but there is a considerable amount of small twigs sticking up. Field portion has canola stubble sticking out. Recommend using “rock” skis at this early stage of the ski season.

A post on the A Cross Country Ski Club Facebook group on Sunday evening says:
Fantastic late season skate ski at Bittersweet today. A couple of pieces of bark on the trail but otherwise perfect April skate conditions with no bare spots! Started around 11:30 and it was a touch icy but conditions improved greatly once the temperatures hit zero.

  • April 2, 2022 – Trail up, all the trails are still snow covered. Skiing is still possible when below freezing, there are indentations in the snow where the ski trails are. We have not regroomed the trails in an effort to preserve the snow. I hiked all the trails today, they are ideal for snowshoeing or hiking. Once it starts to get above zero, the…[Read more]

Some skate trails renovated Sunday: Skater’s Waltz and Oak Meadow. When the temperature rises a bit they should be quite good.

Hey Laura… Does that description include the skate trails? Or some of the skate trails?

    • Not yet? They’re going to try Sunday morning, I believe. I’ll update when I know for sure.

    • Thanks so much Laura…

      • See my report above!

        • Ah jeez Laura sorry. I meant to reply and thank you for the info days ago. As it was i had a great fatbike at Minnedosa Sunday. and i would guess the skiing is done after this week… or, April Fools? lol.

The groomer took advantage of the cold temperatures and tried some renovations. The results are good to fair but definitely skiable!!! Only eastern trails are open and can be accessed from either trailhead. Do not attempt ungroomed trails: they are icy and dangerous. If we stay off the trails when it’s above zero we might get another week of skiing!

Classic tracks and skate trails still in tact Saturday morning. Surprised not to see more visitors! Like many other locations, days are numbered.

  • We skate skied from 11:30 until 1:00 PM with a temperature at 1-2 C. and conditions were wonderful. You can hear the snow crunching beneath the skis, more so on top of the deer tracks. A couple days ago, we saw about 6 deer on the same trail. The base is still nice and firm and a least a foot thick so it should be good for a week or more of…[Read more]

  • March 15 @ 10:30 AM conditions were outstanding on the skate trail with the temperature @ -3 C. It is better not to ski if the temperature is above zero because you will sink into the base and it will freeze later. Mornings should be wonderful skiing

  • We are having a full moon ski and snowshoe event on Friday March 18 at 7:45 pm. Meet at the trail head. Moon rises at 8:16 pm. If trails are icy due to the predicted melting coming up, we can hike or snowshoe. We will have a fire going outside. Trails were groomed Friday March 11. However, Saturday’s winds blew in the trails Renard Rough and the…[Read more]

Our groomers continue to work at improving our skate trails! We can now report that Ridge Runner trail is in good condition, while World Cup condition is rated as ‘fair’.

All trails, classic and skate, groomed and ready for the warm weekend! Heads up: the deep snow in the bush has lead to significantly increased deer activity on the trails. Watch for tracks and other surprises 🙂

  • Skiers planning on doing the Feisty Rooster take note that highway 2 west of Glenboro and highway 10 south almost to Boissevain are partially ice and snow covered. Give yourself extra travel time and you will be rewarded as the trails are near perfect and firm (small baskets).

We’ve been dealing with a ton of snow and even more wind leaving us with massive drifts throughout the system. We packed and rolled yesterday and hope to have at least some classic trails ready to go later this morning for holiday Monday folks.

  • Trails are all groomed!

Skate skied the Lake circle yesterday, but it was slow going. I thought you could stay on top due to the melt, but you do sink. Two snowmobile tracks would be sufficient grooming, but they would have to be beside each other. It took an hour and a half instead of 45 minutes to do the 5 Km. Recommend parking by Stride so you start and end there…[Read more]
