A post on the A Cross Country Ski Club Facebook group says:
Skied Assiniboine Park on Sunday. Bumped into the trail setter which was cool and from what I could see I was the first person to use. Guess it pays to ski when it’s -40;)
I believe these are the first tracks of the year and so it was pretty slow/soft as the tracks aren’t packed from use just yet. Poles sunk in pretty deep a few times which threw me off a bit. There were also 2 spots in which you need to cross the road which had a lot of sand on it, which I wasn’t a fan of; hopefully they stop sanding at these intersections. There are some low hanging branches throughout which could use a trim so watch out to avoid a stick in the eye.
