From Kathleen Brown, Birds Hill Provincial Park’s Manager, on Monday morning:
    Good morning,
We have some construction that will be happening in Group Use 1 Site 2. This means that there will be a portion of the Group Use Road from the gate to our service gate at Site 1A that will be utilized for bringing in equipment and garbage bins. There will also be a section of Aspen that runs through the group use area that will be closed so construction at the shelter in Group Use 1 Site 2 can be carried out. There will be barricades up so that no one comes through while we are working. Please see below the map of the trail closure in Group Use 1. (Click on the Maps tab above the trail conditions reports on the Birds Hill Provincial Park trail page).
It is recommended the area be avoided as there will be vehicle ruts. We anticipate the work will be completed in a weeks time. If you could help us communicate to users that the closure will be starting Monday November 21, 2022 so bins can be brought in and signage put up, it would be greatly appreciated.
Construction will commence Tuesday November 22, 2022 and the hope is to be done after two days and use the remainder of the week to smooth out any tire ruts. If it will be longer I will update you.
I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause but unfortunately this was the only time we could get things lined up.
