Windsor Park Nordic Centre 1 year, 8 months ago
Windsor Park Nordic Centre, Monday afternoon 1:00 to 3:30, -2° to 0°. Skiers on the trails: 4 classic & 14 skate (including me).
Grooming was in progress when I started. The skate track was extremely firm and almost solid ice-snow in the ungroomed places. The Ginzugroomer was able to create a surface ranging from “scratched” to a cm of sugar snow. It got better throughout my ski because of the slightly rising temp.
A few trail segments are closed off. A few detours have been groomed to avoid pure ice. The only way to cross the river is on the stone bridge (2-way traffic). In fact, most skate skiers were skiing all the remaining trails in both directions to add variety.
It was a very good afternoon of skate skiing.
PS: The classic track is nicely defined snow-ice on most trail segments and non-existent on many others.
