From Elise Watchorn on Wednesday afternoon:
15km of very pretty trails. They’re quite sheltered, rolling trails, nestled into the woody Birdtail valley, with frequent glimpses of pretty vistas, and a warmup cabin midway along.
The trails have obviously been regularly groomed this winter. Unfortunately, the groomers had not been out between Monday night’s blizzard and our visit today. However, traces of the old ski tracks were still mostly visible, so we forged boldly onward and flattened out that new powder … a good workout to keep us warm at -27°. The deer were out frolicking, the bluejays and crows had lots to chat about, and we caught sight of a owl too.
Certainly worth a visit, especially if you can time your ski better than ours.
