Tuesday morning, 1° to 2°, sunny.
Classic — Aspen, Chickadee, west Bluestem: The well-formed tracks were snow, not icy, and the snow was much colder than the air temp.
Skate — Group Use Road, including the two interior bays: The centre of the road was very firm (and fast), but the snow surface was soft enough to edge in and push off forcefully. The sides of the road and the two interior bays had some loose on top, so they were slower; at a colder temp they will be better for edging and pushing.
The high temp today was 4°, but it was a brief high, so I suspect that only snow in direct sunlight might be transformed (melted and refrozen) on Wednesday. With a high temp on Wednesday of 0° or -1°, very little additional snow transformation will occur until Thursday afternoon.
