Birds Hill Park, Monday norning, -2° to +2°, sun and cloud.
When I arrived at the park and saw a few mm (not cm) of new snow, I knew that skate skiing on the Group Use Road was going to be slower than I anticipated. Initially, the new snow reduced glide only a bit and it may have slightly improved balance and control, but once the snow started to melt it created a thin layer of stickiness.
The skate track is still in good condition and should last until the weekend.
I saw two people classic skiing, but I didn’t ask them how it was.
