32 Charleswood Ski Club members skied at Pinawa on Saturday. -9° to -6°.
Classic: The Red trail and the Golf Course trail had excellent tracks.
Skate: The track on the Red trail and the Golf Course trail was perfectly firm. However, the groomer’s placement of the classic track was almost always too far from the edge of the trail — sometimes as far away as 1 metre or more, so the adjacent skate track was almost always too narrow — often it was only 1.5 metres wide. I really tried not to impinge on the classic track, but I dinged it dozens of times. I was trying so hard that my “other side” ski went off the trail into deep snow 8 times and resulted in me doing a spinerama crash. Sigh.
