Teulon 3 months ago
From Andy Dwilow on Wednesday afternoon:
Teulon was great today. New wet snow sticky and slow, but grooming and signage excellent and trail layout well thought out over the gently rolling terrain. What a gem! -

Falcon Ridge 3 months ago
From Al Stewart on Monday afternoon:
I skied classic on 15km of trail at Falcon Ridge at noon today. A bit slow because of all the new snow and -20C temps, but still very skiable. Simply superb scenery, especially on the High Lake Trails.
So beautiful! -

Whiteshell Provincial Park 3 months ago
From Al Stewart on Saturday:
West Hawk to Faloma is beautifully groomed. There was a decent snowfall here the other day so the trails are a bit soft. A wonderful winter scene of snow covered Jack Pine and Spruce on the edge of two new chiseled diagonal tracks. The weekend may bring many walkers. -

Saturday, -12° to -8°.
Green, Black, Black Extension, Grey, Grey Connector, Purple, Yellow:
Excellent … except Yellow from the wicked descent to near its north trailhead, which is fair — big rocks lurking under the snow on the wicked descent, very high and choppy snow-grabber tracks in the low area. Skiing Yellow from its south trailhead to t…[Read more] -

Wildwood Community Centre 3 months, 1 week ago
From Al Stewart on Tuesday evening:
I had the pleasure of skiing Wildwood today and really enjoyed it. The skate trail is definitely firming up and is a bit bumpy but still quite skiable. The classic tracks were excellent. -

Birds Hill Provincial Park 3 months, 1 week ago
From Al Stewart on Friday evening:
I classic skied over 17 km of different trails this afternoon and was impressed with how good the tracks were in most places. And for the first time in many years there were no walkers or footprints on the trails. Even the GUR looked pristine. Tons of skiers enjoying the balmy temps. -

Bittersweet 3 months, 1 week ago
From Ardythe McMaster on Thursday evening:
After a wonderful holiday time, with so many happy families out enjoying the mild temperatures, Bittersweet trails have suffered from the unrelenting mild temperatures. There are many bald spots, especially on the south facing slopes, and there is no snow to re-groom or even refresh. In the interests of…[Read more] -

Birds Hill Provincial Park 3 months, 2 weeks ago
Tuesday afternoon, -4°.
Skate — Group Use Road: Friday’s re-grooming resulted in a very nice firm flat track (now with some foot holes that only marginally affect enjoyment). The middle metre of width has gotten too hard-packed, but the rest of the track width ranges from very good to perfect.
Classic — Bluestem, north Chickadee, west Aspen: very…[Read more] -

Grand Beach Provincial Park 3 months, 2 weeks ago
From Edward Zwingerman:
Skied Beaver and Squirrel on Sunday the 3rd of January. Skier tracked, not groomed. No skate skiing yet. Would not advise north part of Beaver as snowmobiles have chewed it up pretty badly. Except for that stretch, skiing was pretty good. Lots of snow. Some novice skiers getting lost. Beautiful place to ski. -

Sandilands 3 months, 2 weeks ago
Sandilands, Red & Grey & south Green & Black. -4° to 0°. Lots of skiers. A very good day of skiing for the 5 of us. The “snow grabber” grooming results in an elevated track, which initially feels a bit weird, but it certainly creates very good tracks from not much snow.
Floyd skied Red a couple hours after us. He told me he encountered two w…[Read more] -

Birds Hill Provincial Park 3 months, 2 weeks ago
Thursday afternoon, -9°.
Classic — Lime Kiln, Aspen: Tuesday’s 5 cm snowfall has been skied into the tracks, so they are nicely refreshed. Very good.
Skate — Group Use Road: The edges had been a bit soft; the new snow made them softer. The centre is much firmer, but Wednesday’s Vs had only partially packed the new snow. It took me a lap to get…[Read more] -

Falcon Ridge 3 months, 3 weeks ago
From Al Stewart on Wednesday evening:
The High Lake Trail is impeccably groomed out at Falcon Ridge. A nice dump of snow yesterday was welcome but a bit more is needed as the odd rock sticks out here and there although they are spray painted orange. The other trails have not been groomed yet. -

From Friederike von Aweyden:
The trails are alive and well… Excellent ski conditions and well groomed trails this afternoon. Marvel at the few grassy sections (about 5%) and remember those poor golfers in their off season. Thank you to all, who worked hard to improve the trail infrastructure, routes and lighting. I loved the ice bar and hot tub…[Read more] -
