Crawford Creek had just barest suggestion of old tracks visible today. Fluffy snow was falling heavily, so ours will be filled in in no time. The day was warm and the snow was sticky as glue. Hundreds of windfall branches covered the trail, as well as a couple of downed trees: we cleared them as best we could. We followed the very fresh tracks of three wolves who could not have been too far ahead, but didn’t see them. Had a nice lunch at the cabin, which is well stocked with dry wood. We certainly didn’t break any speed records on the downhill leg out, but still it was a nice payoff for the climb. Naturally we had to do a few up and down laps of final big hill.

Broadleaf looked about the same when we arrived. By the time we left the lot, a walker had been through.

Not even a hint of old tracks were visible on Hilton.
