Checked in today with the landowners, and the Rivendell trails have NOT been groomed this year.

The nearby Frank Skinner Arboretum trails apparently are being groomed: we’ll check them out later this week.

While in the neighbourhood, we visited the Madge Lake ski trails (about 45min north, and just over the Saskatchewan border). The trails here were stunning, as always: just gorgeous huge smooth hills and perfect grooming, rivalling anything in Manitoba. The five, free, first-come-first-served cute little ski huts scattered through the trail network all seemed occupied over Saturday night, but in our experience if you go on a weeknight, you’ll have your pick of them.
