So, curious to see what the cold snap had done to the trails, I arrived at the park around noon Mar26, to the Chickadee parking lot which was dirt on the west side and packed frozen snow mounds on the other, but easily accessible by my sedan.
The Aspen trail to the stables parking lot was skier packed dual track,and back west to the Bluestem. Bluestem was also skier packed dual track to the lookout.
Went down the hill on the Chickadee outbound trail and continued on the inbound Chickadee and did the Aspen loop back to the parking lot. Chickadee has only on the right track skier packed and exhibits walker deterioration.
Aspen and Bluestem were easily skiable, and in spots you could imagine you were on a bobsled run.
Note: I took a look at the stables parking lot which is a mass of ice and frozen crusty icebergs. Woe to the driver who snags their exhaust system or breaks through the ice and gets hung up.
