We skate skied from 11:30 until 1:00 PM with a temperature at 1-2 C. and conditions were wonderful. You can hear the snow crunching beneath the skis, more so on top of the deer tracks. A couple days ago, we saw about 6 deer on the same trail. The base is still nice and firm and a least a foot thick so it should be good for a week or more of…[Read more]

March 15 @ 10:30 AM conditions were outstanding on the skate trail with the temperature @ -3 C. It is better not to ski if the temperature is above zero because you will sink into the base and it will freeze later. Mornings should be wonderful skiing

Skate skied the Lake circle yesterday, but it was slow going. I thought you could stay on top due to the melt, but you do sink. Two snowmobile tracks would be sufficient grooming, but they would have to be beside each other. It took an hour and a half instead of 45 minutes to do the 5 Km. Recommend parking by Stride so you start and end there…[Read more]

Skate trails were well groomed, wonderful terrain for learning skate ski technique woithout too many hills. Twice around will give you 9 kilometres all of which is wind sheltered. As noted above, the area offers all types of locomotion (skate, classic, shoe, slide; all groomed). Today there were 6 cars, and two school buses.

Conditions today (27th) were excellent on all of the classic trails east of the main parking, thanks to wonderful grooming probably done this morning. Only one trail to stay off. North Star was visited by a school who did the trail backwards flattening the grooming especially on Reggies Run, the major hill, also walking the trail with snowshoes,…[Read more]

Classic skied starting at the farmhouse on Omega to Archie’s Swamp, Deep Woods, down Coyote to Cranberry, back up to Cottonwood, Red Hill and back to Archies and Omega avoiding the big wind. The grooming was perfect, the hills safe, and 10.5 km. a little more than an hour and a half. Yesterday, we did most of the other classic trails which were…[Read more]

Skied most of the trails east of the clubhouse, and all were in excellent condition as KatG posted below. Here are the new trails for those who want to know. Hartley’s Hills leaves from White’s way as you make the climb up toward Pine Hill. The trail is two way. There are extremely beautiful views in all directions as you can see the Ski Hut…[Read more]

Today conditions were excellent including the grooming for skate skiing. The classic trails are also in excellent early winter conditions. We skiied the Orange connector and the Orange Trail twice for about 7.5 K. Many thanks to the Groomer, Muriel for always maintaining the trails so well. This was our 7th time out. Today is the last day to…[Read more]
