Fantastic ski on the exciting hills of Sandilands Monday afternoon! We skied the green and south leg of the black trail in a counter-clockwise direction…..so fun! Tracks were very good, although some tree debris, and footprints in the tracks on NE Black. The SW black trail was in better shape, and the views were amazing. Thanks to the Sandilands…[Read more]

From Edward Zwingerman on Saturday evening:
Skied Sandilands today. Grey, Green, and Black. Nicely groomed, snow is perfect, hills are not icy. Beginning of Green is closed due to erosion on the hill, but easy to get around. Nice sheltered area to ski.

Friday afternoon, Birds Hill Park, -13°, light wind, snow flurries.
Chickadee, Esker, Lime Kiln, west Aspen.
~1 cm of fluffy snow slowed down the tracks a little bit. Conditions were A+, as they have been for the past two weeks. Quite a few people were skiing, including a few families.

Pine Point Rapids is in good shape. Lots of the usual footprints on the track, but still very skiable. As usual, the prize at the end of the trail is spectacular.

We skied Lime Kiln on Wednesday afternoon. Despite the chill, the sun was warm and trail condition was excellent, with many other skiers enjoying it too. FYI – Spruce has been groomed for skate skiing.

As mentioned at http://sandilands.ca/the-trails/, the eastern section of Green-Purple was not groomed (and won’t be). Fortunately, the Grey trail is nearby and can be used to complete the big Green loop.

Sandilands has groomed the majority of its classic tracks. sandilands.ca has specifics. Trails received about an inch of snow since last groom, but tracks are good overall. Parking lots are plowed.
