Update posted by Glen McMaster: January 21 skate trails Oak Meadow, Skaters Waltz and Ridge Runner overall in Very Good condition with fast but crystalline snow throughout other than a few uneven spots and moderately icy conditions on the Knee Knocker and Two Deer hills. World Cup skate trail is closed due to bare patches on Grape Climb hill. January 22 classic trails mostly in Good to Very Good condition with crystalline snow except for occasional short sections of glazed snow, or thin base which is easily stepped around. Hard wax (VR45) provided good grip. Tracks on trails near the Nordic Centre with heavier use are more worn down. Archie’s Swamp trail is moderately icy throughout. Skiers should watch for one short section of thin base on Omega Trail downhill which requires care. Challenging trails and hills are closed (Cottonwood trail and west, Red Hill). Overall very enjoyable skiing.
