Windsor Park Nordic Centre is maintained and operated by the Cross Country Ski Association of Manitoba (CCSAM) since 2000.
Trails are groomed daily, in the mornings, unless conditions dictate otherwise.
Please allow several hours after a significant snowfall for trails to be groomed and the tracks to “set up”. Expect trails to close temporarily while grooming is in process.
Follow @wpnordic for Trail Condition tweets or visit http://www.windsorparknordic.ca for more information.
Classic and skate skied this morning. Classic not groomed and slow with a light dusting of new snow overnight. About 1/3 of skate touched up by Jim this morning. These spots are excellent and fast, and include main drag, Brent’s loop, and all of green other than the graveyard loop. All of blue not groomed, except for Jimmy’s dip. Lots of deb…[Read more]
Trails are freshly groomed and in great shape for both Classic and skate. The forecasted snow event today is eagerly anticipated. Packing and tracksetting will be the primary focus on Saturday, January 18.
Jim started grooming at 2:00 AM and has now gone home to nap before starting over again. Lots of fluffy snow, warm temps and happy skiers today means the trails won’t “look” groomed tonight but at least we have SNOW to ski on! Enjoy friends.
Skied a lap of green this morning. Skate has improved greatly since the recent snowfall, though I noticed some gravel in two
places. Classic tracks are mostly thin and shallow. Need more snow.
Jim the Groomer is out working his magic (probably cursing all the skiers behind him but who can blame them). You won’t see perfect corduroy or crisp beautiful tracks until people stop skiing on fresh groomed trail but for now we are just thrilled to see SNOW!
Skating is excellent. Track setting is next.
Holiday hours (this week and next) M-F: 10-10. S/S: 9-6. Closed 1pm Christmas Eve. CLOSED Christmas Day. Closed 9pm New Years Eve.
Conditions are the same. Really hoping Santa brings us some snow soon!
Due to Hydro project in neighbourhood we have no power east of Seine River. NO LIGHTS on except for the areas closest to the clubhouse. Hydro…[Read more]
I skate skied at Windsor Park late on Monday afternoon. Considering how little snow is on the ground, it’s fairly good. I generally agree with a report I read this morning on a Facebook group:
“WP was decent last nite… the training grid was actually really good since theres been a large amount of traffic on it.. from Bonivital to the Seine is…[Read more]
You can skate, for the little bit of snow, its decent.. lots of low spots on fairways, so until we get snow to fill in the low spots its wavy.. some portions are really good, other places fair…. no classic tracks set in case anyone is wondering. It had probably snowed a few cm since before I left…
Yes, doors opened yesterday and today. Consider this a “soft” opening. Not all trails are skiable, especially in the river loops. Very little snow to work with. If you do come this weekend, please SKI WITH CAUTION. We will officially announce our opening when we are confident all levels of skiers can enjoy a safe ski on all trails. We may hav…[Read more]
Due to the lack of snow we are unable to be open. At the first opportunity we will be grooming for classic and skate skiing. However, Some hardy skiers have been out on the grid area with their rock skis. THINK SNOW!
Do you anticipate being able to have the whole trail system open, given the high water level on the Seine?
I guess people are just hoping the fence to rock ski.. I went late aft today to check it out and the parking lot gates are shut… weather says 5-10cm.. Im not holding my breathe….
