A number of cross country ski trails are being groomed by various individuals and organizations on the Assiniboine River.
The most well known is The Forks’ River Trail that runs parallel to the skating trail on the south side of the Assiniboine River and sometimes also on the Red River.

The good people from Bourkevale CC were out grooming the ski trail between Assiniboine Park and Waverley/Aubrey! Fresh groom for Saturday morning. Add they’ve made it a double track. -

Assiniboine River trails (The Forks, others) 1 year, 8 months agoThe ski trails from Hugo to the Forks are freshly groomed, all nice and cleaned up after the blizzard. The ice was cleared and zambonied as well! Very impressed!

This isn’t a report about the actual Nestaway River Trail, but Bourkevale Community Centre has groomed a trail from the RA Stein Community Centre westward to Assiniboine Park, about 5 or 6 km.
