From October 15 to April 30, emergency services may be significantly delayed or limited during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:00 PM), and may be unavailable after hours, overnight, on weekends, and on holidays. PARK VISITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY AND MUST BE SELF-SUFFICIENT IN DEALING WITH ANY EMERGENCY THAT MAY OCCUR.
CELL PHONE COVERAGE IS NOT RELIABLE IN THE BACK-COUNTRY OF RMNP. Make sure that you tell someone where you are going and when you will return (RMNP emergency number is 1.877.852.3100).
Be aware that the weather changes during the day: check the forecast for the day and dress appropriately. Know your own skill level and avoid trails that are too challenging.
