The Gimli Cross Country Ski Club maintains 15Km of classic trails and 5Km of skate ski trails that wind through Camp Morton Provincial Park. 8km of classic trail is located on the East Side trail system with access off of PTH #222.
An additional 7km of Classic is located on the West side trail system. This runs along the 5km of well packed Skate trail. A 2km double tracked classic loop is also availble for the pleasure of those who enjoy a chit chat while they ski. The west side trail system is acessed by turning west off of PTH#222 on to Lake side Rd. Parking, warm up shelters, & trail maps are available at both trail heads.
Info about GCCSC, the trails, & current trail conditions are posted by the club weekly on their website.

Birch and Steepleview mostly double tracked (where space allows) Ravine was packed only, looks like it may now be part of the multi use trail. West side trails all in good shape.

From Corey Mohr on Monday:
We skied classic and skate skied Sunday morning on the west side of Camp Morton. It was recently groomed and in great shape, firm and fast. It is about a 6.5 km out and back. I give credit to the Gimli ski club for grooming and someone local said they will likely groom again. Lots of snow there and it’s holding up. When…[Read more] -

There’s still plenty of snow cover…[Read more]

Don’t put away your skis just yet. We were pleasantly surprised to find almost 2 inches of FRESH snow and grooming in progress on the WEST side trails. The groomer said the EAST side trails were not groomed and would likely not get groomed for the rest of the season. The 5 km skate deck looked very good. The grooming should set up nicely…[Read more]

From Brigitta Voth on Friday afternoon:
Freshly groomed trails on both the West side & East side of the Gimli / Camp Morton ski trails today. Great conditions and ideal for beginner skiers. Just 1 hill so one can always take skis off. Parking lots have been plowed, and wood stove burning in the warming hut! West side also groomed for skate…[Read more] -

Skied the east side Camp Morton trails yesterday. The grooming is shallow but uninterrupted: there has been lots of foot traffic, but none actually in or on the tracks. Everything is groomed except for the very farthest sections of the Steeple View alternate route. Only a bit of the parking lot has been ploughed: a few spots are clear but more…[Read more]
