Jackrabbit Toque Design Contest 2022

Nordiq Canada invites all Bunnyrabbit and Jackrabbit skiers to participate in designing the 2022 Jackrabbit Toque, which will be worn by 10,500 Bunnyrabbit and Jackrabbit skiers across Canada!

Get your ideas ready…here is the template for your design: Jackrabbit Toque Design Contest 2022.

The criteria for entering the contest is as follows:

  • Contestants must be currently enrolled in a Nordiq Canada Jackrabbit or Bunnyrabbit program
  • Contestants must be between the ages of 5-9
  • Artwork must be of original work

Selection process and timelines:

  • Designs should be submitted to Ilona Gyapay: igyapay@nordiqcanada.ca by 1:00 PM, CST on March 11, 2021.
  • Nordiq Canada will select 10 final designs and voting will occur via Survey Monkey. The voting period will run from March 12 to March 19, 2021 until 1:00 PM (CST). Please remember that only Nordiq Canada members are eligible to vote!
  • Announcement of the ‘winning’ toque design will be posted on Nordiq Canada’s Facebook page and website.

Nordiq Canada Annual Club Fundraiser

Ski Local, Support Local

Last year we celebrated over $200,000 raised for our annual club fundraiser. This year we’ll Ski Local, Support Local as more Canadians than ever before are heading to their local ski trails to experience the welcoming nature of cross-country skiing.

The goal of this year’s campaign is to raise $250,000 in support of cross-country skiing across Canada by the close of March 19, 2021.

95% of funds raised by clubs will go back to their local projects.

Brent Bottomley Awarded Dave Rees Award by Nordiq Canada

Congratulations to this year’s Nordiq Canada’s award winners that were presented at this year’s AGM and Annual Awards Banquet in Saint-Sauveur, Quebec. Thanks to all for their outstanding support of cross-country skiing over many years.

Dave Reese Award
Awarded to a man or woman who has made a long-term, outstanding commitment to the sport of cross-country skiing in Canada at all levels (local, regional and national) and in any of the many ways in which volunteers or professionals give of themselves to our sport.

Winners: Brent Bottomley (Manitoba) and Len Apedaile (British Columbia)

Kym & Michayle Bottomley were able to attend and accept the award, presented by Karin McSherry on behalf of Nordiq Canada.

Firth Award
Presented to a woman who has made an outstanding volunteer contribution to cross-country skiing in Canada.

Winner: Amanda Deulling (Yukon)

Volunteer of the Year Award
Presented to a man or woman to recognize significant achievement in the regional or national development of cross-country skiing in Canada.

Winners: Dave Moore (New Brunswick), and Gerry Brenemen (British Columbia)

Media of the Year
Awarded to an individual, a newspaper publisher, television station or scribe in social media who has effectively highlighted and portrayed athletes in our sport, and/or our sport in a positive and exciting manner, continuously throughout the year or at one significant event

Winner: Carl Tardif, Le Soleil in Québec

Sponsor of the Year
Awarded to a sponsor or supplier who goes beyond the scope of their sponsorship agreement with Nordiq Canada by making a significant commitment and support to the sport and to the National Ski Teams.

Winner: Fischer (Lanctôt domestic and Fischer International)
